Shreya and Sayam, knew from their first midnight walk itself that the chemistry between them was too potent to ignore. And, to make sure that his to-be bride was swept off her feet as he popped the question five years later, Sayam orchestrated a rooftop proposal that sent the cuteness levels soaring with its thoughtfulness. WeddingSutra Favorite – WhatKnot captured lovely photos of the surprise proposal.

How They Met
Shreya shares, “Our story began when at college where we both were
pursuing our post-graduate courses together. Slowly and steadily we got to know
each other as we started chilling together in the same circle of friends. However,
our relationship kicked off on a
fateful night where a midnight cake cutting ceremony was being hosted to
celebrate my birthday. As the celebrations unfolded, Sayam pulled me aside and
we took a long walk around the campus where he presented me with a tiny blue
french horn and a miniature yellow umbrella knowing that I’m a big fan
of ‘How I Met Your Mother’!
From then on, there was no looking back and midnight walks became
a tradition for us. Somehow, both of us knew that this was meant to be.”
Proposal
When it came to planning the perfect proposal Sayam left no stone unturned
to impress Shreya. Hosted on a sunlit rooftop with the clear blue sky
bearing witness, he indulged her with mouthwatering desserts and a bottle of
sparkling champagne. Surrounded by nostalgic memories, adorable love
notes along with a huge banner with ‘Marry Me?’ written on it, the proposal
was a feast for the eyes. Later the happy duo celebrated the momentous
occasion by popping a bottle of champagne. However, the cherry on top
was when Sayam gifted Shreya a miniature blue french horn that took them
back to the moment they first realized their love for each other.
Shreya shares, “Five years have passed since that fateful night and both
of us have grown so much as individuals. And even though we’ve juggled
a long-distance relationship for three years, the bond between us has remained
unbreakable. We’re both opposites but somehow, we work well together.
Everything in the proposal was absolutely stunning and I can’t wait to start this
new adventure with him.”
